Sometimes after doing the same workout routine it's going to be a good idea to start switching things up or else it'll really become just a boring routine. It's easy to stay motivated at the beginning but eventually working out can seem like work. The motivation eventually fades away and you're left trying to conjure up the strength to finish your workout. But just because you're working out doesn't mean it has to be boring and lame. I'm going to show you how a fitness boot camp uses some fun strategies that have given new life to working out and has re-ignited the motivation to work out.
Most of the boringness of working out comes from doing the same thing all the time while being indoors in the gym. To fight off the eventual workout burn out it's going to be a good idea to add some new exercises that will switch up your training while also challenging your body. In a fitness boot camp you will also work out outside and it's a lot more fun being able to get outdoors and get some fresh air. When training outdoors you can run up and down stairs, step up and down off park benches, and do pull-ups of the monkey bars. You could do all those same exercises at a gym but what fun would that be?
Working out alone is another easy way to quickly make your workout seem like a chore. Try getting a workout partner to train with you and it'll instantly make your workout a lot more fun. It doesn't have to be a random stranger but instead it can be your good friends, a neighbor, your spouse, your cousin, whomever your heart desires. In a group setting you can also have a lot of different partner exercises that we do to spice up our workouts and get some team comradely.
Sometimes when you're working out in the gym it's easy to be surrounded by people who just aren't really into working out and it's contagious. Instead trying surrounding yourself with people who are enthusiastic and actually like to work out. When you hang around people are into training and eating right then you'll be much more likely to do the same. You could also find a work out group such as a fitness boot camp or you can take some fitness classes at your local gym.
Working out isn't all about lifting weights and running for miles. Try playing some games with the new group of workout friends. Playing a game of tag is a real basic game but it's also going to turn into a very fun and intense cardio workout. Playing games will also make your workout a lot more fun and it'll also lift your spirits. In our boot camp we also like to play a bunch of different games towards the end of the workout to keep things interesting. I hope you enjoyed some of our ways to make exercise fun and you start training outside the box.
